We've had a few days of thick, soaking fog. Sometimes it will clear around sunset, only to roll in again during the night. Visibility is low, the ground is muddy, and the dogs get wet when they're outside.
Pogi learned it right away, and the sound is very distinct from the name of the other dog, Halo. Don't feel bad for the dogs getting wet, because they don't give it a second thought. They're both herding dogs, and seem well adapted to the elements. The bigger dog lies to lay on the porch in the early morning, before sunrise, even in freezing weather. When you touch him, he's nice and warm inside his fur coat.
We have a new dog, Lucky. He's a golden retriever. He's big, dumb and sweet. I'm having fun with him. It is nice, to hug a giant furry animal, dogs are pretty cool. I am a cat person though. Yeah some breeds of dogs, they seem fine with being wet, in fact they're pretty cheerful most of the time.
It's interesting how folks are comfortable with the idea of dogs being lonesome, even cats. People see it's biological.
