These disruptions of LiveJournal are said to be be tied to the current Russian elections, with the Russian government launching massive DDOS attacks against LJ and other sites, in an effort to censor news and opinion.

There are lots of news stories of the latest Russian cyber wars, and top managers of LJ are quoted as saying they have pinpointed the source of the attacks as the Russian Government. Your own M1-6 is watching this and may have secret evidence.

Yes United Russia shut it down as part of their election fraud. Was front page of NYT yesterday. Seems this LJ here is their number-one blogging platform. Which of course suggests who else is reading this now.
