Because I'm a survivalist, I watch the CDC reports, and California is now in the throes of flu season. The overwhelming strain is a type A, known as California 2009, which I remember. I was inoculated in 2010, and probably am immune, but I'm being careful. One of my survival scenarios involves a new and deadly strain of flu sweeping across the world. Scientists were recently creating deadly strains of flu for study, but according to published reports, have temporarily ceased.

You know what's funny, when I read "Zombie Survival Guide", (http://www.amazon.com/Zombie-Survival-Guide-Complete-Protection/dp/1400049628/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1329465996&sr=8-1) (Max Brooks) what I enjoyed about it was that I got insight into humans during a crisis, survivalist stuff. After you survive the deadly flu, you'll have to survive amongst other humans trying to survive! I had a co-worker that had a stockpile for surviving, in their garage! Where everyone in the neighborhood could see. What trusting souls.

Well, most of us would try, within reason, to help our neighbors, and that's actually a key survival strategy. I'm out in a more rural area, and most people, including me, have big dogs and guns.

Both dogs already spend the day guarding, and Halo sleeps right next to the bed.
