The Old And The New
Sep. 23rd, 2012 10:10 pmI couldn't resist picking up a pocket-full of acorns this evening, while walking the dogs. I'm going to continue to collect them, and then sometime this winter, make some acorn meal. Maybe cook it as pancakes, or mixed with almonds for a pie crust.
I also am starting to build a desktop computer, mostly from parts I've accumulated. I built computers in the old days, but it's not done much anymore. I started with an IBM 8088, and overclocked it from 4.77 MHz to about 6, and installed a VGA graphics card and 5 and 10 meg MFM drives. I thought I was hot shit when I finally built a 386-20 MHz with 40 meg IDE drives. This will probably be the last one for me, and will not be an ultimate machine, but will be faster than anything I have now.
