Hobbling Around
Aug. 22nd, 2014 08:09 pmI woke up this morning with what seems to be an inflamed ankle tendon, so I've dosed myself with naproxen and hobbled through my day. I picked another batch of tomatoes, maybe a little fewer than last time, which is fine. Canning tomatoes is so much work that I can barely keep up. I also processed and froze a couple quarts of eggplant.
This Japanese eggplant has a peppery flavor, and I've been making a pasta sauce with home-grown eggplant, tomatoes, garlic, oregano, and onions. I wish I had more eggplant, but it's the most demanding crop.
