Saturday Highlights

robbyI'm glad the dogs are good about horses. A fiesta is going on nearby, and a cowboy rode by the house, and did some fancy prancing on his horse. I guess it's a maneuver to show off during a parade. The dogs appreciated the prancing, and got uber excited, but stayed in the yard. I saw a pitbull once attack a horse and rider, and it was horrifying.
I picked three gallons of Roma tomatoes. I'm almost out of canning jars, but could always dehydrate and freeze tomatoes when I'm completely out of jars.
When I mowed the lawn this afternoon, the mower stalled. My mind switched to mechanical diagnostic mode, but it ended up being nothing complex. I just don't know the mower well, and ran out of gas.
I'm draining the smallest water barrel, and channeling the water to the almond tree. This was water meant for the late, lamented avocado trees. I was really pushing the envelope by trying to grow avocados here. The plum trees that I planted instead are doing really well.
