I repaired the truck door, replacing the inner and outer handles. I had to disassemble lots of the control rods and panels, which was more complex that I was ready for. My previous experience was with an old Toyota truck, which was so much easier. Finally, I went to a locksmith and he worked on the broken lock cylinder, so it would stay fixed in the outer door handle, and he carefully hand-cut a new key that is proper for the door locks and ignition. The old key was a crappy, poorly cut key that required jiggling to operate. A huge difference, when you compare the teeth of the old and new key.

I'm proud of figuring it all out and getting it done. It ranks right up there in all time complexity. I paid less than $100 for the parts, special tools and the locksmith, but some auto body shops would charge ten times that to do the same job.

Next, I'll put the trim back on, rotate the tires, clean the truck, get a smog check, and then sell it.
