Mucking Around

I turned the south bed today, with only a garden fork. The soil is finally in good condition, so no more roto-tilling. I then dug up four loads of compost, and spread it over the bed. Onions and garlic will go there in about a month.

A gopher staggered out of the compost pile, while I was excavating so I cut it in half with the shovel, and fed it to Halo.

No, he was right there, and ate it the moment I pointed it out. It was irresistible for him. i don't like to kill things, but gophers are the exception.

My other dog spends hours digging for gophers,and gophers are the main prey for the feral cat population.
