harvest

I'm still able to gather small amounts of tomatoes and eggplant weekly. Right before the first freeze, I'll pick everything remaining.

tomatoes

The tomato plants are healthy, with plenty of green tomatoes still left.

squash

Here is the first 2/3's of the butternut squash. I just store them indoors, in a cool place and they last until spring. The 1/3 remaining is not yet mature, and I can wait until right before the first hard freeze to harvest it.

Wow that's a great haul, especially for this time of year! My garden has been done for weeks... it was just planters on my porch, though.

We could have another month before first freeze. I live in California's San Joaquin Valley, which is world renowned for fruit and vegetables.

We might have another month before a freeze, too but things cool off a lot in the fall here. I'm in BC Canada, close to Vancouver. We're zone 8/9 but it's definitely a shorter season for us.

Yes, both our climates are moderated by the Pacific ocean. In the summer, we often we get the ocean breeze from the west, which cools things down.
