 I repaired one bad water line to a lawn sprinkler. I had to dig down about 18",  cut out the bad pvc pipe with a reciprocating saw, then replace the bad section. I had everything here, except for the final fitting that the pop up sprinkler screws into. I'll go to Home Depot next week and get a couple fence pickets at the same time.

This cooler weather (85°F) is an advantage. I can go out and work in the afternoon without suffering.
