Pogi is eating constantly, even eating Halo's leftover food. He's still skinny, but headed in the right direction. There's no telling how long he was scuffling about, alone in the great outdoors. He's afraid of sticks, and is sometimes worried that he'll be beaten. He's very happy here, and Halo really enjoys having him around.

The Brandywine tomatoes that I planted in pots are beginning to ripen. They are just a fraction of the normal size. Tomatoes grow best in the ground.

I was waiting at home for the utility company, but they were a no show. I have one of their poles planted on my property. It's got no wires, and isn't connected to anything, and I was hoping they will pull it up and take it away.

How'd you do with the Early Girls? Mine are late.

I had breakfast once at a house by Sacandaga Lake. They were vegetarians and their idea of breakfast was fresh figs, bread and tomatoes with fresh mozzarella drizzled in some olive oil deal. I'm told, not sure correctly this is salad Caprese. Like Capri pants? It's excellent. Have you ever tried it?

No, but I like figs. They grow them in the Southern California desert. I've read somewhere that archaeologists believe figs to be among the first crops domesticated by man.

My Early Girls are doing very well. I've been eating them like crazy and have 20 quarts canned, so far. I need to pick them again today or tomorrow.

That is the best. Canning, that is old school, I admire it. Like this old expression: "she puts up preserves."

Tomatoes are acidic, so you can safely can them with boiling water. There is newer pressure canning equipment that would be good for canning anything, but I haven't got it. I'm freezing everything else. BTW, I gave this post a title that makes makes zero sense, but that's as far as I'll go with that.

WW throws his hat in the ring. Lithe, limber, I like that.

I know gold we can't see. Rule, binds, it took that away. It's not to come up cheap next to the measure of the world, to be part of it, this twilight now will never come again look at the stars, there is nothing like that. Nothing. The gold that lives, the stars that are, I put up but they're made for better. I am no fan of sense right now I'm sick of looking at it.
