Another Tricky Day

The last day of this heatwave brought us 110° Fahrenheit temperatures and lots of smoke. I start coughing, and wonder if I got the corona.

But we survived.

On these searing days, the evening walk is after sunset, and Halo leads us across the fields after dark. His grey fur reflects the ambient light, and he looks back regularly to check on Dinah and me. He likes to be given voice commands.

A shepherd breed dog needs jobs, and these walks are a lot like herding for him.

The closest fires, to the west, are almost contained, but yesterday smoke was blowing in from fires to the north.
