I went running after work, on a path near the San Carlos airport. I started seeing little snakes on the path, and stopped and looked closely at the first one. It's head was larger than it's body, and that usually means venomous snake. But there were no rattles on it's tail. I've seen little rattlesnakes up in the hills, and as I recall, they always have rattles. The next one was about 1/2 mile further, and a fellow runner was stopped looking at it. She thought it was a rattlesnake, and was trying to shoo it off the path. I finished my run, but as you can imagine I was focused on the path in front of me. Right after I passed one, a very pretty latin woman came running up, and as she passed I said, "Watch out for the snakes." She laughed, and said. "I've been trying to forget them." She reacted as if my warning was a clever new pickup line. I explained, "Up ahead, on the left.", right after she passed me, but she only turned back for a second and smiled.
