I made plans to stay home this morning and plant grass seed, but the storm is here already. The forecasters were off, again. I'll just go with the flow, and be lazy, because my feet hurt anyway.

I've done some of the preparation for planting, and if it doesn't get too wet, maybe I'll be golden once the storm has passed.

I've been able to drive off the birds without killing them. Just being out there at sundown, taking potshots, may be enough.

I'm learning about the birds by watching them. There is a dove nesting in my privet tree, that doesn't eat almonds. I had the perfect shot at a yellow-billed magpie, that does eat almonds, but it was too beautiful to shoot. I often see hawks and crows engaged in aerial combat, high above in the sky.

Finished planting the grass, between the first and second storm. The rototiller was hard to start, after being stored all winter. The spot was bare earth, where I had pulled up all the pavers to build the walkway/patio in the side yard.. I had to also build a temporary fence, to keep the dogs off the area.
