Organic Gardening Is Hard!
Nov. 6th, 2013 06:24 pmToday, I cleared weeds out of the main bed, and put down a layer of compost. Tomorrow, I'll fire up the petrol-powered rotovator amd till the soil.
This time, I managed to come up with about 400 lbs of compost from my compost pile, which isn't that much. I wonder if it's possible to make enough compost just from clippings and leaves and kitchen waste, and such. I've tried to get quantities of local animal manure, but that's really never come together.
Soon I'll do my winter planting of garlic, yellow onion sets, snow peas and green onion seed.
