Gardens and Dogs
Nov. 8th, 2013 06:54 pmI did my winter planting in one fell swoop: snow peas, garlic, yellow and green onions. One insight about vegetable gardening for food production is that you can't be lazy- you just have to get it done, regardless. The forecast is for mild weather, so lets hope my timing is right.
Halo is my dominant dog, and has a tendency to correct Pogi, if Pogi is bad. Today Halo actually "warned" Pogi not to jump the fence.
A neighbor boy was driving a little high-revving car back and forth on the road, doing quick U-turns right in front of the house. This was making Pogi so crazy that he was bouncing on the top rail of the fence. Halo stepped in did a herding variant that told Pogi to stop acting up and behave.
In other news: I'm reading, "Prodigal Son" by Dean Koontz It's a sequel to Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein", with the principals still living now, in the 21st century. The Monster, even though he was originally pieced together from executed criminals, has recently spend time in a Buddhist monestary, working on his antisocial issues.
