Pogi Wearing Me Out
Jul. 9th, 2014 09:14 amIt's finally quiet enough where Pogi would come with us to walk, but when I let him off leash, he ran off, out of sight, and wouldn't come back. After calling and looking for him, and almost going home, I followed Halo, and Halo found him.
Pogi wasn't along the creek, but hunting rodents a mile up. He heard me calling and was probably within 100 yards at times, but he just didn't care. I'm glad that Halo stepped up and found Pogi, and I'm pissed and worn out. I guess the rational thing to do is to research how to train a dog to absolutely come when called. It's the crazy, obsessive prey drive that Pogi has that makes this so difficult.
