Farm Report For November 15
Nov. 15th, 2014 11:23 amI picked another gallon of tomatoes, and I'm thinking about picking them all in about 3 weeks. It's a big job, and I don't want to wait for a sudden frost warning, and get caught flat-footed. I found an nice eggplant and a butternut squash that I had missed earlier.
I also planted a dozen sprouting onion bulbs, which will be my green onions in the spring and seed for 2016. I weeded the oregano patch, pulling out as much of the Bermuda grass as practical. Once the freeze starts the Bermuda grass will suffer, but I'm giving the oregano good sunlight for now, as an encouragement to grow lush.
This afternoon I'm going to pick lemons for marmalade and start trimming the palm trees.
