At about day 60, there are lot of fat squash forming. We have about 90 days until first frost, so let's hope they get fatter and fully ripen.

I'm picking the overload of green lemons, so the tree branches won't break. They are mature enough that I can juice them. The juice isn't as tasty as juice from ripe lemons. The funny thing is that this juice from green lemons tastes just like commercial lemon juice.

I'm preparing for the CBEST exam, which is required to be a substitute teacher. I just finished a practice test for mathematics, and did well. I'm planning on taking practice tests for all three segments, and then taking the real 4-hour test on the 26th.

Last year, I worked as a tutor, financed by "The No Child Left Behind" program, teaching English Language Arts and Mathematics, but I never made enough money to justify all the work. I discovered that the company that I contracted with earned about $60/hr per student. but I only made a pittance, even though I taught some group sessions of as many as 6 students at a time. They were making tens of thousands, yet paying me hundreds. I was doing everything, including planning curriculum.
